Review

The Huawei Watch GT 4 is a solid smartwatch that’s got quite a bit going for it, especially at the £229 price point. With a sleek design and a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, it looks quite the part on your wrist. The resolution is sharp enough to make everything pop, which is nice for notifications and fitness stats.

One of the standout features is its battery life. Huawei claims it can last up to 14 days, and while that’s a bit optimistic depending on how you use it, I found it still holds up really well compared to many rivals. If you're someone who forgets to charge your devices regularly, this is a big plus.

Health tracking is another area where the GT 4 shines. It offers heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen levels, and comprehensive fitness tracking, which is pretty much what you'd expect from a smartwatch these days. The GPS is reliable too, so if you’re into running or cycling, you won’t be left guessing where you’ve been.

On the downside, the operating system, HarmonyOS, feels a bit behind compared to the likes of Wear OS or Apple’s offerings. While you can access essential apps, the selection is more limited, and it lacks that seamless integration you might find in more established platforms. Also, while it’s water-resistant up to 5 ATM, I wouldn't push it too hard in the deep end if you plan on swimming regularly.

Overall, I’d give it an 82 out of 100. It’s a solid option for those looking for a stylish smartwatch with excellent battery life and health tracking. It’s not perfect, but for the price, you’re getting a lot of features without breaking the bank. If you can live with the slightly clunky software, it’s definitely worth considering.
