Review

The Inateck USB 3.0 Hub is a nifty little device that’s really handy if you’re like me and find yourself running out of USB ports. With seven ports to play with, it offers a decent number of connections for all your gadgets. The build quality is solid enough for the price, and it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, which is always a plus.

One of the standout features is its USB 3.0 capability. You get faster data transfer speeds compared to USB 2.0, so if you’re moving files around or using it for external drives, you’ll notice the difference. It also supports hot-swapping, meaning you can plug and unplug devices without having to restart your computer, which is a nice touch.

On the downside, I found that it can be a bit power-hungry. If you’re connecting multiple devices, especially ones that draw a lot of power, you might run into issues. It doesn’t come with an external power supply, so if you're planning to use it for several high-draw devices, you might need to reconsider or look for a powered hub instead.

Another thing to note is that while it works well with most devices, I did encounter a couple of quirks with some older peripherals. They weren’t outright rubbish, but it’s worth keeping in mind if you have a mix of new and old tech.

At £8.79, it’s pretty decent value for money. You’re not breaking the bank, and for what you get, it’s a reliable addition to your setup. Overall, the Inateck USB 3.0 Hub does what it says on the tin and does it well enough for everyday use. Just be mindful of the power needs and you should be good to go.
