Review
So, the Google Pixel Watch 3 is out, and I've had a decent amount of time to play around with it. First off, at £349, it’s definitely on the pricier side, but considering it’s packed with features, it might be worth a look if you're already in the Google ecosystem.
One of the standout features is its seamless integration with Pixel phones. If you’ve got a Pixel, this watch feels like an extension of it. The AMOLED display is quite sharp at 450 x 450 resolution, and the 1.4-inch size strikes a nice balance between being functional and not looking overly bulky on your wrist. It’s bright and clear, even in sunlight, which is a major plus.
Battery life is a bit of a mixed bag. They claim about 24 hours, which sounds decent, but I found myself needing to charge it daily, especially if you’re using the GPS and health tracking features. Speaking of which, the heart rate monitoring and Fitbit integration are solid. If you’re into fitness, it offers some great insights. The 5 ATM water resistance is also reassuring if you fancy a swim or just want to wear it in the shower without worrying.
On the downside, Wear OS isn’t perfect. It can feel a bit sluggish at times, especially when switching between apps. And while the 32 GB storage is nice, it’s not really a game-changer if you’re not planning to store loads of music or apps on it.
In terms of value for money, it’s a tough sell. If you’re after a smartwatch that’s tightly integrated with Google services and don’t mind the daily charging, it’s a good option. But if you’re looking for something with longer battery life or a smoother interface, you might want to explore other options. Overall, I’d give it a score of 81/100. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid contender in the smartwatch market.
